One of Janet s favorite questions to her grandchildren after a visit was, Did you make a memory? She left us with many.ДЈ P.E.O. will be her legacy and will be long remembered by us all. Her many talents that she shared with the community and P.E.O. She also enjoyed basket making which she learned from a Sister, gourd crafts, and making, as well as wearing, jewelry. For decades Janet provided live organ music for initiations which were frequently held at her home. world and was the go-to person for all things P.E.O.

She also served to link her chapter to the wider P.E.O. She would, from time to time, call each member for a long chat and often follow up with a newsletter to the chapter, updating members on the status of their sisters. Janet adored her family and they were a priority for her, but she had sufficient energy to be involved in numerous community organizations, including Girl Scouts, Hospice, and Literacy Volunteers. Janet was characterized by energy, interest, and communication. Janet was a member of Chapter C, Belfast, Maine, since 1972, and she served three times as president of her chapter. She attended four International Conventions. She was a founding member of the Northeast District Board and served as president in And in 2003 she wrote Our Beginning, the history of the formation of the Northeast District Chapter. 2 Janet exhibited her strong belief in educational opportunities for women through her many years of dedication to P.E.O.
